Continuing on the topic, in this blog post, we will take a look at Decowood’s decorative veneer manufacturing process. Read on!

1. Peeling

The first step to making decorative wood veneers is selecting premium quality wood logs. Decowood sources the finest logs from around the world and slices them with precision. They are then processed into thin veneer flitches depending on the dimension requirements.

2. Dyeing

The next step includes immersing the skirting veneers in soluble organic dyes that enhance every hue of the wood. To ensure pure air quality, Decowood does not make use of any heavy metals or chromium and produces veneer sheets that are suitable for indoor use.

3. Composition

A step that is responsible for bringing out breathtaking engineered veneer sheets that feature an array of designs and hues, composition is exclusive to Decowood’s manufacturing process. During the composition process, all the dyed veneer sheets are overlapped and mixed with all the fibres in the same direction for pressing to create a flawless and seamless pattern.

4. Bonding

The pressed veneer sheets are sent to a bonding machine that produces stunning and unique patterns. Decowood makes use of water-based adhesives that do not contain any VOCs. Each design is unique depending on the color of the glue used in the machine.

5. Pressing

To further beautify veneer patterns, the bonded sheets are sent for pressing. Decowood’s executive template includes briar patterns and flame finish. First, the veneer sheets are flattened out through cold pressing and then taken through hot pressing to end the reaction of the adhesive.

6. Squaring and Sheering

Under this process, every log of veneer is refined and squared off to produce thin veneer sheets and elevate the look of each veneer. The process is carried out by the highest level of master craftsmen.

7. Sheeting

Sheeting is carried out to create premium quality veneer sheets by further processing the thin slices of veneer and pasting them on ply to achieve a strong and durable product.

8. Quality Control

Decowood premium-quality veneer sheets undergo multiple quality checks before going on the market. They are checked for thickness, species, slice, moisture content, and the type of construction methods and core material used. If they fail the quality check, they are again repaired by skilled craftsmen to ensure desired quality.
